Toys:
Toys should be clean and in working condition and should have working batteries. Toys that do not have working batteries at drop off will be rejected. We will have batteries available for $1/each at drop off for your convenience. If a toy has small parts, place them in a Ziploc bag and zip tie or tape them to the main toy using clear packing tape.
Books:
Books need to be in good condition. All pages within the book should be free of any rips, tears, stains, etc. Books with significant rips or tears in the pages will not be accepted. Attach tags to books using blue painter’s tape or masking tape to prevent tearing of the cover when the tag is removed.
Puzzles/Games:
These items should be complete without missing items. The best way to present puzzles is wrapped in clear Saran Wrap and taped closed on the backside. Tape tags using blue painters’s tape or masking tape. Please do not use packing tape on these items as it removes colors/tears the package when removed.
Movies/Video Games:
We will not accept VHS. Only children’s DVD’s rated G or PG will be accepted. Please ensure the case and disc match. Place the movie in a Ziploc, wrap with Saran Wrap or tape the case closed with blue painter’s tape or masking tape. Tape the tag onto the back.
Large Toys/Outdoor Play Equipment:
These items must be clean, and include all the pieces. Tape the tag onto an area easily spotted by shoppers. Include any user manuals in a Ziploc and tape or zip tie to the toy/equipment.
Equipment/Furniture:
Check items for recalls on our safety page. These items will need to be assembled during your drop off appointment. Strollers should be unfolded. Attach tags to any cloth portion of the equipment using a 1.5-inch safety pin. Zip-ties are also efficient ways of attaching tags to large equipment/furniture. Please use blue painter’s tape when attaching tags to solid furniture pieces. Include any user manuals in a Ziploc and attach to the equipment/furniture.
Bedding:
These work best in an extra large ziplock bag, so that you can include the entire bedding set in the bag. Recycled plastic bedding bags work well, too. Dollar stores generally carry blanket storage bags and other similar large bags. Attach tags using packing tape.
Loose items:
Small items (such as hair bows, bottles, etc.) work best in a Ziploc bag. Be sure to tape the top of the bag with clear packing tape so that items don’t get lost.
